How to submit a missing trail or suggest an edit
The fastest web path is the RidePal Trail Contribution Portal. Use it to add missing trails, suggest edits, merge duplicate trail segments, add bike parks or POIs, and upload or draw route geometry. Everything goes through review before it appears for everyone.
Use the Trail Contribution Portal
Choose this for detailed map work from a phone, tablet, or desktop browser:
- Open ridepal.app/portal.
- Sign in with the same Google or Apple identity you use with RidePal.
- Choose a submission mode: New Trail, Edit Trail, Merge Trails, Delete Trail, or POI.
- Capture geometry with drawing tools, GPX/GeoJSON import, OSM search, or the route builder.
- Add trail details, review the summary, and submit for admin review.
See How to use the Trail Contribution Portal for a deeper walkthrough of modes, map tools, and submission tracking.
Suggest an edit inside the app
iOS
- Open the Map tab and select a trail to open its detail screen.
- Scroll past the stats and trail properties until you see the section titled Help Improve This Trail.
- Tap Submit Changes.
- In the form, choose what you want to update (name, difficulty, surface, width, trail style, ride style, conditions, photos, and a written explanation). Submit when done.
Android
- Open the Map tab, tap a trail, and open the full trail detail view.
- Scroll to Help Improve This Trail.
- Tap Submit Changes and complete the form the same way as on iOS.
On Android, this action runs behind the RidePal Pro gate like other premium map features—if you are not subscribed, the app will prompt you through the paywall first.
Add a missing trail from a recorded ride
Use this when you rode a line that is not on the map yet. You submit your GPS route plus details; staff review before publishing.
iOS
- Record and save a ride in RidePal so you reach the post-ride screen.
- In Additional Options, expand Apply to Trail Database.
- Read the short explanation in the app (submissions are reviewed; timing varies).
- Tap Apply to Trail Database to open the submission form. Add trail name, description, conditions, difficulty, optional photos, and related fields, then submit.
You can also open a saved ride later from your activity history and use the same Trail Database flow where it is available (for example from the ride summary when submission is supported).
Android
- Finish a ride and open the post-ride / save flow, or open the ride summary for a saved activity.
- Expand the section labeled Apply to Trail Database.
- Tap the button to apply the route to the trail database and fill out the submission form.
After you submit
Submissions are reviewed by the RidePal team. Turnaround varies by queue and complexity; the in-app copy gives a general expectation. You may get follow-up if something needs clarification.
